In the face of regular attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, portable power stations have evolved from a useful travel gadget to a vital piece of equipment. These devices provide autonomous power for critical devices at home or away from home — from communications and laptops to medical equipment, heating and lighting systems. The military, rescuers, doctors, and residents of frontline areas are in particular need of them.
BLUETTI is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of portable power systems. Founded in 2019 in the United States, the company quickly gained the trust of users thanks to its innovative technologies and the reliability of its products. Their solutions are used both for everyday needs and in extreme conditions — from expeditions to natural disaster zones.

Key features of BLUETTI AC70
Compact and easy to carry: The BLUETTI AC70 portable power station has a 768 Wh LFP battery that can withstand more than 3000 charging cycles before losing 80% of its original capacity. Weighing just over 10 kg (22.5 lbs) and measuring 314 x 210 x 256 mm (12.4 x 8.2 x 10.1 in), this device is easy to carry thanks to the convenient handle on the back. Similar to the older AC180, it is constructed of durable plastic for a pleasant touch and feel. A rubber sticker on the front protects the station’s body and the surfaces on which it is installed from scratches.
Functional ports and advanced connectivity: The front panel of the device features two 1000W AC power ports, an LCD screen, and a DC connector for solar and car charging. Among the innovations, it is worth noting the replacement of the less popular DC 7909 with the versatile and convenient XT60 for power connection. The device also features two USB-C ports with 100W each, two USB-A 5V ports, and a 12V car connector.
Convenient control: The BLUETTI AC70 1000W 768 Wh can be turned on and off using the buttons on the front panel or via the mobile app. The settings menu is accessed by long pressing the DC and AC buttons, where you can configure modes such as Bluetooth, Power Lifting, Eco, charging speed and main frequency.
BLUETTI mobile app
BLUETTI offers a special application that allows you to remotely control and configure the parameters of the AC70 portable power station. It connects to the station via Bluetooth, which makes it possible to customize the charging mode and monitor the device status. This is especially useful for those who want to protect their batteries from excessive stress.
In the app, the user can choose from three levels of charging power: 290 W, 450 W, and 850 W. Reducing the charging power allows for more gentle charging of the batteries, which extends their service life. However, the ability to change these settings is only available through the app, which may be a disadvantage for some users, as it would be more convenient to have this option directly on the device itself.
The app also allows you to increase the maximum power of the device up to 1500 watts without the risk of automatic shutdown. This is an important feature for cases where maximum performance is required. In addition, the app allows you to install firmware updates, which ensures continuous improvement of the power plant and access to new features.
Practical tests of BLUETTI AC70
Performance
The BLUETTI AC70 power station is a versatile and powerful solution suitable for many scenarios both at home and outdoors. The station can provide power to your router, laptop, or TV so that you don’t go crazy with boredom during power outages or have the opportunity to work remotely. It will also have enough power to power a heating boiler, refrigerator, most small appliances, and all electronics at home. Scenarios for using the power station can be thought of for a long time. However, we will focus on how the power station will be used by Ukrainians in the event of a power outage.
The tests began, of course, with a laptop and a router. To connect the router, you can use the USB output with an adapter. This will save you one outlet and energy, as you won’t have to spend it on an inverter. The ASUS Zenbook 14x OLED desktop laptop consumes 30–45 watts on light loads and watching videos. The router consumes an average of 10–15 watts. Together, when the laptop and router were connected, the station worked for 8 hours and was discharged by half — from 100 to 50%. Additional charging of a smartphone, watch, or tablet does not significantly affect the station’s operating time.
The advantage of BLUETTI AC70 is that, in addition to two conventional 230V sockets, it has 2 USB-A and 2 USB-C ports (100W each). So you can charge a fairly large number of home gadgets at the same time.
Next, we tested a 42” TV with Smart TV. It consumes about 60–75 watts and can operate on the power station for more than 10 hours. If you turn on the Xbox Series S game console along with the 42” TV, the consumption will increase to 120–130 watts. In this mode, the charger lasted for 5 hours of operation.
The next thing we decided to check was the heating boiler. Since it’s winter and most Ukrainians use power stations to operate the heating system during the cold season when there are power outages. So the heating boiler in a one-room apartment consumes about 200W in heating mode. We turned on the boiler when the temperature outside was 0 °C. In such conditions, the boiler was switched on for about 10–15 minutes every hour, and the power station worked for 12 hours, which is an excellent indicator.
Another important household appliance in the absence of electricity is a refrigerator. Our BOSCH refrigerator connected to the power station without any problems and consumed 220W in cooling mode, of course, this mode is not always available. One charge of BLUETTI AC70 was enough for 14 hours of operation of our refrigerator.
We also connected a blender, a mixer, a microwave, a compact coffee maker, and even a low-temperature hair dryer to the power station. Everything works flawlessly. Of course, we did not test energy-intensive devices such as electric boilers, powerful electric heaters, electric ovens or electric grills, as they can be replaced with more powerful solutions from BLUETTI.
The next step was comprehensive testing. We connected the power station to the power supply of the entire apartment to find out how long the charge would last. The heating boiler, refrigerator, router, laptop, and LED lighting were constantly connected to the power supply. In addition, the TV was turned on for 2 hours to watch a movie, food was heated in the microwave once, and coffee was brewed in a compact coffee maker. In this mode, the power station worked for a little over 5 hours, which is an excellent result. And for most users, this is enough to get through the most difficult winter period in the face of power outages in Ukraine without any problems.
The power station’s almost silent operation is also a pleasant thing, as the cooling fan was rarely turned on and also worked quietly.
Charging
Sooner or later, even a large battery of BLUETTI AC70 1000W 768 Wh will need to be recharged, and a household outlet becomes the fastest and most convenient option. Connecting to a power outlet allows you to charge the device with a maximum power of 850 W in turbo mode. Charging from 0% to 100% will take just over one hour, and in standard mode at 450 W, charging to 100% will take almost 2 hours.
In addition to the wall outlet, the AC70 can be charged from solar panels using the XT60 input, which supports up to 500W. This is ideal for those who spend a lot of time outdoors and want to remain independent of the power grid. The third option is the car connector, which allows charging the station with a maximum power of 120 W, which is especially convenient when traveling.
A unique advantage of AC70 is the possibility of combined charging, which speeds up the process. If you connect both a power outlet and a solar panel at the same time, the device can receive up to 850 W of input power. This approach significantly reduces the charging time and makes AC70 one of the most convenient solutions for autonomous power supply in any conditions.
Who needs a BLUETTI AC70 power station, conclusions
In addition to being an essential tool during blackouts, BLUETTI AC70 is also an ideal choice for people who are often outdoors: hiking, camping, or just relaxing far from civilization where there is no access to electricity. This device will also be indispensable for those who work remotely and need a constant source of energy.
Due to its versatility, the AC70 can serve as a backup power supply in conditions where there is no or very limited access to electricity, providing power to the necessary electronic devices. It is a reliable, fast-charging and high-quality device that will last for many years.
The BLUETTI AC70 portable power station is a prime example of innovation in portable power supply technology. Combining power, efficiency and mobility, it is suitable for different categories of users — from outdoor enthusiasts to those who want to be prepared for unforeseen power outages.
The overall performance and feature set make the AC70 a strong competitor in the market. Whether traveling or preparing for an emergency, BLUETTI AC70 will always have power at your fingertips.
